Clement Messervy What is latest on tie to Jersey?
I have a copy of "Genealogue de la Famille Messervy"
reprinted by Higginson Book Company.
The first half is in French (Jersey Lines) by J. A Messervy. Abt 1892?
The second half is in English (American Lines) done by Albion K.P. Meserve, MD, in Portland ME July 1897.An Original is in the Maine Historical Society in Portland, ME.
In the First Half page 27-30 are the Branches of d'Anneville, St Martin, et de Gorey, (Grouville). The Clement of interest is on page 29.
Clement Messervy n 1665, emigre (?) Portsmouth New Hampshire. Amerique du Nord.
Unfortunatley they included the (?)
In the Second Half page 47-76 are the American Lines, starting with Clement Messervy married Elizabeth, the Clement Elizabeth Jones Branch etc.
Unfortunatley they use the Term "He was very probably, son of John Messervy of Gorey, Grouville, and of Mary Machon, his wife on page 29 of this work".
So has anyone recently done or have any concrete research done in the Isle of Jersey, to prove these two Clements are the same person?
I would be interested in assisting anyone who has a plan to solve this problem.
