My father, Ross D. Morrison, born 05 1906 in Westhope, Bottineau County,North Dakota has always told us children that he was "drafted and was to leave the day the war ended". I have been trying to locate these records and haven't found any registration or draft cards on him. He never did serve in the military, so would there be any record of his draft or induction? Would they have destroyed his induction if he never served? Other than at the county level, would they be at NARA or some other military archives? I am told by the county that the only place any draft board records would be if they were kept, would be the local Veteran's office. They are closed until after the new year. Thank you.
