I was curious to know whether the Wason Lane had any connection with my family. My father's, great granfather's and great great grandfather's surnames were all Wason Lane. The last was christened in Oxford, son of Thomas and Ann Lane, in 1843 but I can't with any certainty go back further. I did find a Thomas Lane marrying an Ann Wason near Shepton Mallet in Somerset having a son William and a daughter Sarah and both the Somerset and Oxford Thomas' were stonemasons, but I've never heard of any of the family going to the USA.
