A conundrum. Two Andrew Messengers who served in the Civil War buried in NJ.

There are two soldiers named Andrew J. Messenger who served in the Civil War. One served in the 48th New York Infantry and the other in the 124th New York Infantry.

One died in 1881 and is buried in Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa, NJ and the other one died 1882 and is buried in the Chestnut Cemetery in Dover, NJ.

I am having trouble trying to figure out which one is buried where. I have some 1890 Census information that adds to the confusion so I won't post it here, so if any of this rings a bell to anyone please drop me a line.
