Bruce,
I found a book with of Jedediah Messenger listed him born 23 May 1697.
A Genealogical Dictionary of the First Settlers of New England page 214 and the father was Peter Messenger who married Joan Porter Peter was the son of Eleazer who married Jane or Fannin or Fanny Warren. Eleazer was the son of Edward Messenger.
