I started doing a little research on my family today and was talking to my grandmother and dad. They have some books on the family history and said my uncle has done tons of research. Beatrice Lola Messenger (aug 1909-March 11, 1976 was my great grandmother. My dad mentioned Uncle "Cato", George C. Messenger, Aug 3rd 1869-March 9, 1950. Beatrice is the Mother of my grandfather Paul Hickingbottom of Newellton, LA. I'm not sure if that is any help at all but I came across your post and wanted to share. I grew up in Crowville, LA about 10-15 minutes from Gilbert. Anyway, I think my dad has the book with most of the family history in it. You can email him at t62hick@yahoo.com and possibly find some information.
