I was also surprised that no one else had posted to the Metsker forum. I am not researching the Metsker family. My husband's family is Waterhouse. His ggrandparents were Andrew Jackson and Maria Emily Waterhouse. They lived in Ft. Scott and Joplin throughout their adult lives. We located their graves in Forest Park Cemetery in Joplin and were surprised to find that they were buried with a child, Dolora (or Delores) Grace Metsker, age 3 years six months. We thought perhaps she was a granddaughter. We sent for her death certificate and found that her parents were Adsworth Metsker and Rosa Leese Metsker. The family lived at 1910 Picher, Joplin, in 1919 which was just four doors from where Andrew and Maria's son's family lived. Our guess is that she was close to the Waterhouse family in some way and was buried with them because of that fondness.
Andrew and Maria had three children who lived to adulthood. They were Elmer Ellsworth, Franklin Douglas and Grace. Franklin was my husband's grandfather. Elmer and his wife Minnie were the ones who lived near Delores' family.
I can send you a copy of the death certificate and also a photo of her grave site if it would be of any help to you. If you know of the Waterhouse family and any connection you might have between our families, we would love to know.
