My name is Janice, and my sister-in-law Haidee has asked me to research her maternal grandmothers side of the family tree, which is the Metters family in Devon.

Haidee's 2 x gt grandparents were John Metters who's birth was registered in Tavistock in the Dec qt 1843, he states in various census that he was born in Bridestowe, he was a boatswain in the RN. John Married Betsey (Way - I think) and in the 1881 census they have 2 children with them, one of them is Mary & the other is William, his birth was registered in March qt 1867 in East Stonehouse in Devon. If it's the same family we could exchange some information.
Regards, Janice
