I have recently started tracing my family tree and think we may have some common ancestry.
My GG Grandfather was a John Metters. From his marriage cert (Tavistock, 1866) his father is listed as Jonathon Metters, Tailor - Journeyman. It's likely Emma and John were siblings.
So far I haven't been able to find the birth record of my GG grandfather so cannot confirm his mothers name. It's possible that he was the child of Jonathon and Amelia Strike that you refer to.
Do you have any information that may confirm?

David Metters
