I AM IN POSSESSION OF A HANDWRITTEN LETTER FROM WILLIAM METZ OF NEWARK OHIO DATED 1910..WHO SERVED IN THE CIVIL WAR BATTERY D-4 ARTILLERY UNION SIDE... WITH MY ANCESTOR THOMAS BURNS. HE DISCUSSES OTHER COMRADES IN ARMS AND THE PROCESS OF APPLYING FOR A CIVIL WAR PENSION.
