From a 17 Dec 1964 from C.J.A. Perry, a descendant of Clarissa Arvilla Blanchard Perry Anderson (1803-1871), who was a daughter of John, Jr. (b abt 1777) and Clarissa Ackley Blanchard, and therefore a granddaughter of John and Elizabeth Blanchard of Partridgefield (Peru), Berkshire, MA and Hamilton, Madison, NY: "We are still at a blank wall with our Blanchards at Partridgefield, but I am now trying to find record of the other son named George born 1778 who visited the sister Hannah (who md John Mevis) in 1837 in Caroline N.Y. "My hunch is he came to visit from quite a distance, since his visit was featured in a letter [probably from Hannah] as being quite unusual. I would like to see a copy of the letter, but Joseph L. Mevis of Michigan seems reluctant to share." If anyone has any knowledge of this letter or can pursue it -- and especially be willing to share -- I would be very grateful. Finding something about George Blanchard (b abt 1778) and his family could be a key for all Blanchard or Mevis descendants. (Hannah's sister Elizabeth married Rev. George Mevis.) I have not seen anything posted by Virginia Adams Kim-Taylor for quite some time. The last location I had for her was in Margate, Florida. I would be glad to have news of her.
