My grandmother's maiden name was Mary Ellen Harper, she was born in Neosha, Kansas on January 7, 1880. She married Charles E. Stafford on December 3, 1921 in Baker, Oregon. On the marriage license he lists his name as C.E. Stafford, his birthplace as Michigan, his father's birthplace as either Can or Con, his mother's birthplace as Michigan; and his age as 58 yrs., 8 months and 24 days. He lists his occupation as laborer and says that this is his second marriage. My father, whose name was Ralph Anthony Stafford, was born on August 23, 1922 in Baker, Oregon. I have information about his mother and her ancestry; however, none of my family has ever been able to find a record of a Charles Stafford born anywhere close to when this Charles was supposed to have been born. My grandmothers name as listed on the 1930 census was still Mary Stafford.
