Kevin,
My husband's maternal family contains the surname of Cottrell....somehow. Steve, my husband, was often told by his grandmother, Kathryn Drouillard (can't remember maiden name at this time)..that her decendants gave us the St Clair town of Cottrellville (spelling ?). The area is around 26 Mile Road and Marsh. I am still researching this...surname.
The area I do know is the Marine City/Algonac area...looking at the river separating US and Canada.
