Hi....

First...the information from the book Stephanie has.

William Stein, Sr.. Born Oct 27, 1835 in Saxony, Germany, son of Michael and Anne E. (Creek) Stein. He married Anna Mary Goodman on Oct. 22, 1861, daughter of Otto and Maria (Lukenhaufer) Goodman. They had 10 children: Sophia, Fredereka, John W., Amelia, William, Barbara, Christian, Henry, Augusta and Lizzie.

My Stein name is part of a mystery involving my main research focus which is MONAGHAN. There is a William F. Monaghan b. 3-16-1913 in MI and died 6-26-1985 in Detroit buried in my family's plot at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Emmett, MI. He was married to Estella R. KISSANE. According to the death certificate I have for William F., he was the son of William P. MONAGHAN and Theresa STEIN.

I've checked the 1870 MI census index for Stein and find a Theresa in Ward 4, Port Huron, St. Clair Co. on page 379R.

I expect the William Stein, Sr. is part of your line. I'd love to know if we can match up the Theresas somehow. If you have any MONAGHANs in your reasearch, I'd be very interested in them also.

Best regards
Sheila Carlson
