Thank you, Thomas. I have done a lot of research on the family including census material. I was specifically looking for the parents listed on their marriage registration at the St. Clair Co. Clerk's Office in Port Huron. I am looking to verify that the Martha Finch Pettingill who married James M. Pettingill on 20 Feb. 1864, (Book II 1857-1866 Dibean Marriage Index) is the daughter of Eliza Finch and Daniel Finch of Port Huron, MI and Middlesex Co., Ontario. Eliza Moulton Finch (listed on Gendis)is my ggg Aunt, who we found through the Civil War Pension File of her newphew Hiram.
The listing in the St. Clair Website does not give this information. If it is too much of an inconvenience, I could write the St. Clair Co. Clerk to find this out. So hard to judge sitting out here on the sunny westcoast. Thanks for taking the time to help. Just let me know if I should contact the clerk.
