USMC, PFC 27 Marines - BLACH, Edmond (Majeski-Ledebuhr) MI;
KIA on Iwo Jima February 28, 1945, World War II.

Son of John BLACH of Poland (Austria) and Martha Horetski of Detroit Michigan.

TROPHY - THE EDMOND MAJESKI (athlete + scholar) AWARD
Class of 1941 of Capac High School Capac, MI. August 2007, Mike Mrozinski, Principal, escorted me to visit the trophy. The trophy reads:

"IN MEMORY OF EDMOND MAJESKI USMC CLASS OF 1941 KILLED IN ACTION ON IWO JIMA FEB 28, 1945. A SPLENDID ATHLETE WHOSE LEADERSHIP, ABILITY, COURAGE AND HIGH IDEALS, SHALL FOREVER REMAIN. CHALLENGE TO THE YOUTH OF CAPAC HIGH SCHOOL."

HISTORY: Edmond, along with his brother's John, Leon, and Walter, were orphaned by 1928 and fostered out of St. Vincent de Paul's Orphanage out of Detroit, MI. My dad, Edward J. Blach, fifth child and 4 yrs old, was not fostered out, but raised by his maternal grandparents near Kinde, MI in Huron County: Martin Horetski + Margaret "Maggie" Peyok German Settlers.

Edmond's tombstone name reads "Edmond (Majeski) Blach, buried next to Wesley & Dorothy "Delta?" Ledebuhr, his beloved foster parents, in Evangelical Cemetery in Mussey Township, St. Clair Co., Capac, MI.

Any additional knowledge regarding the Life and Times of my uncle Edmond is most appreciated.

Thank you. God Bless
