Would you be able to help identify a James Michie who was probably in Louisa Co VA in 1765? He was named as a defendant in a Louisa Co lawsuit (John Snead vs Christian Poindexter, Thomas Poindexter, Robt Anderson exr of John Poindexter dec'd, James Michie, Wm Philips and Thomas Burrus.

I can explain how the plaintiff John Snead was connected to the Poindexters, but cannot explain the connection to James Michie, Wm Philips or Thomas Burrus. John Snead's wife was Susannah Poindexter, sister of Thomas & John named in the suit. Since this was a dispute about money between family members, I would think James Michie, Wm Philips & Thomas Burrus had married Poindexter women or were somehow related through marriage. Any thoughts?
