At some time in the dim and distant past I believe that the original Michie sept (part of the Clan Forbes)split with some of them remaining in Aberdeenshire and the others moving south to Fife and the Hillfoot towns of Alva and Tillicoultry. I have traced one of my GG?Grandparents, George Michie born in 1795,married to Christian (sic)Drysdale with a son George, born in 1836 in Tillicoultry before moving through to Glasgow. Can anyone add anything to this?
