I would like to say hello to all Michie researchers.
My husband's grandmother was a Michie from Michie, Tn. Her brother did research on this family and passed some things on to me; which I will share - as well as my own research. Just email me.
James Michie, the son of Old Scotch John, married Elizabeth Watson, daughter of James and Barbary Watson. The Watsons and James and Elizabeth lived in Green Springs Valley, Louisa Co.,VA. James Michie's will was written 6 Jan 1776. Probated in Louisa Co. March 9th, 1778.
Elizabeth Watson Michie married (2)Samuel Ragland.
The abstract of James Michie will.
Names: my beloved wife
Sons: George, John, and James Michie
My children: George, John, Ann, Elizabeth, Mary, James, and Sarah Michie.
Exec: Brother Robert, James Watson, Thomas Johnson sh. and son George Michie.

The above George Michie married Elizabeth Michie, his cousin. George and family moved to Wilson Co., TN in the early 1800s. George died in Wayne Co., TN in 1843. George's son James moved to McNairy Co.,Tn and died there in 1838. This James had a son George Gray Michie . This is the family which Michie, TN is named.

From History & Genealogies, W. H. Miller:
Anne Michie, daughter of James Michie m. Henry Ashton Johnson 1784. They moved to Missouri.

I also have the book, "A History of Louisa County Virginia" by Malcolm H. Harris. About 7 1/2 pages on the Johnson family.

I will do look ups in this book for others.
