"Mickey" or "Mitchie"?

Sorry, all you MICHIEs out there, but I have to go back six generations to connect to the MICHIE line, and I've never met a MICHIE in person. I always thought the name was pronounced "Mitchie," but early in a phone conversation with a MICHIE in Virginia, I quickly learned that he pronounced it "Mickey." Is that the standard pronunciation across the country?
