Percy Midgley 1890.
Your family history sounds so very similar to parts of mine that there must be some connection.
My grandmother was Edith Midgley and she was born in Bramhope 14 August 1886. Her father was Edmond Alfred Midgley who was a joiner/undertaker there and also the Bramhope Church organist. She was the oldest of 6 children: the other 5 were Gertrude b 1888, Percy b 29 Aug 1890, Hilda b 1894, Horace b 1899 and Ernest b 1903.
Percy, her brother, married Esther. He died on 31st Dec 1957 and had three children, Dorothy, Eileen and Joan.
It all seems to fit, doesn't it? If one of those three ladies is your mother, then my mother (Gertrude Greenhalgh) certainly knew them and I may even have met them sometime.
