I am one of many Oz descendants of James Milham b1700 Ewhurst, Sussex and Alice Crisford b.20th Feb, 1701, Ewhurst.
Many of their descendants migrated to Oz in early to mid-1800s.
Some also migrated to US in early 1800s and I can provide details to any interested Milham descendant.
Re: the Oz line, Thomas Milham 22nd Dec 1792 Ewhurst who married Elizabeth Leaf of Scarborough, Yorks, in 1826 and had two sons, Thomas Leaf Milham and Richard Leaf Milham who came to Oz as mariners.
Thomas Leaf married Eliza Dowling in 1859 in Brisbane, Queensland and is my g/g/grandfather.
Richard Leaf's descendants were mainly in NSW.
Would be interested to hear from any who can link to the Sussex Milhams and hopefully, might be able to take the line back past James Milham and Alice Crisford.
