My wife's grandfather was John William Sherman BLAKE. However, he took the name of BLAKE as he was born by a Mr. MILHOAN not married to his mother. He was born in Lee Creek, Wood Co, WV in 1878. He also had a sister, Cora, who was similarly born. The mother of these two children was Frances "Fanny" PROVO. In the 1880 census, several MILHOAN families with sons of the right age lived near her. Do you have any idea what MILHOAN was the father?
