Hello Jeff:

Thank you for your reply.

My George Shelton was born bet 1854-58 in Patrick Co VA. He seemingly disappears after the 1860 census. At the most he would have been 16 yrs of age by 1870 but no trace of him.
He isn't found in the death records.

All other George Sheltons in the neighboring areas have been proven to be other Shelton families.

The George W Shelton I seek was the youngest child of Thomas Shelton and Elizabeth "Liz" D. Allen who married in 1835 Patrick Co VA. The family stayed in Patrick and he just drops off the face of the earth as far as I can tell.
He was too young to have been in the Civil War, like his brothers. I've searched the entire country, to see if he moved to live with relatives.. No clue.

Do you happen to know which Shelton family the George Shelton who married Nannie Mimms is from?

Thank you for your help.
Debbie Shelton Wood
