Paul,
What time frame were James and Abigail in Mass? The following is what I've put together on James. Also, James born 1729 in New London parents are noted as David and Rebackah Menoid(sp,later text has Maynard/Minard). The following is what I have so far on James & Abigail:
James Minard b 1745 Lebanon, New London Co., CT married abt 1771 Abigail Camp b1745 New Milford, Litchfield, CT.
Possible residences: CT 1770s, Rockingham VT 1778-1781, NY 1790-183?
CT marriage
VT 'VERMONT STATE PAPERS' vol 6; Sequestration, Confiscation, and Sale of Estates.
May the 18th 1778
went to Rockingham to see if James Minerd would give up his lease or pay the rent for the last yeare as he did before think he had no right to pay the rent to me because Read advised him not to pay the rent to the New State sd miner promised to pay the rent in foll but could not pay it now.
(There is another entry stating that the cattle, farming tools, & rents were yet due from James Minerd as of June 19 1781.)
NY Quaker records show James and Abigail attending Cornwall Monthly Meeting in 1790
1800 Kingston lists James (Miner)Minard over 45yrs 2males under 10 and 1 between 10 and 15, 1female 10 to 15, 2 females 16 to 25 and 1 over 45.
1810 Kingston lists James (Minor) Minard over 45yrs 3males between 10 and 25, 2 females between 16 and 25 and 1 over 45yrs.
1820 Greenfield lists James Minard over 45yrs 1male 10-16yrs and 1 male 16-26yrs, 1 female 10-15yrs and 1 over 45yrs.
1830 Greenfield lists James Minard 70-80yrs 2 males under 5, 1 male 5-10 and 1 male 30-40yrs possibly a son(James jr?). 1 female 5-10, 3 females 10-15, 1 female 15-20 and 1 female 30-40yrs possible wife to other male of the same age. No female 70-80 so Abigail must have died between 1820-1830.
