Margaret Minium
I am looking for information on Margaret Minium, who married William Byers. This same Margaret Minium may be the one who married Ledyard Parker in 1949. The "Margaret" I am looking for was the mother to my great grandfather, James William Byers, who was born September 30, 1845. The records for the marriage between William Byers and Margaret, as well as the birth of James is proving to be extremely difficult to find. In the Civil War records of James W. Byers, he wrote that the only record he had of his birth was the written word in the family bible. That bible was last seen in the hands of his grandfather who raised him as a child. I believe that this "grandfather" is Henry Minium. I was able to find in the 1861 Fed. Census James with Henry Minium. I then felt that Henry had to be the father of Margaret, who for some reason gave up her son so her father could raise him. James Byers eventually married Sarah Clarissa Roberts. If anyone has any information about James William Byers being the son of a "William Byers" and also some marriage certificate that shows William to have married Margaret, I would really enjoy knowing about these. I have been only able to put these pieces of the puzzle together by speculation and nothing by record has shown to prove the above. If anyone knows of a "William Byers" who married Margaret Minium, this would really prove that my great grandfather was indeed the son of Margaret Minium and William Byers. Thanks so much.
