Greetings from America. I am the youngest, married daughter of Dolores Carmela Valenti. My mother, Dolores, is the oldest daughter of Santa Candelora Valenti who was the daughter of Carmela Mirabile. Carmela Mirabile was born on June 19th in 1895 or 1896 in the town of Bafia which my mother tells me is located in Messina Sicily. Carmela was the oldest daughter of Maria and Giovanni Mirabile who owned a butcher shop in Bafia. Carmela, my great-grandmother emigrated to America in the early 1900's and married a man by the name of Joseph Paratore. Two children resulted from that marriage, my great-uncle Rosario Paratore and my grandmother, Santa. Joseph Paratore died of scarlet fever @1919 or 1920.
I was not even two years old when my great-grandmother, Carmela died and I do not know very much about her. I know that she had many younger brothers and sisters that stayed in Sicily and am looking for any family links that I might have there to share with my own children. If you are related to me, or know anything of my family, please share some information with me or with my mother. My mother's e-mail address is email@example.com. I want to know my family history and hope to hear from you soon.
