My father told me about a family meeting in 1906 where those attending decided to use the spelling as Miskimens. Several other branches of the family did not attend this meeting, including my direct ancestors. They continued to spell it the way that William A. Miskimins, a taylor by trade, spelled the last name in the 1830s. My father has a copy of a letter he wrote in his handwriting about one of his apprentices.
My father's name is Richard and his phone number is 913-649-6214.
