I am also trying to find information on Clarence Whites, my husband's grandfather. He said his parents' names were James and Ida. That he was born in Linton Mills,Ohio and that his "parents" died when he was young (?).

Check out the poston genforum by Barbara Whites Warren RE: MISKIMENS, David. It sounds like a possibility.

Our Clarence wound up in the army. According to WWI Draft Registration Card : age 31, farmer, address at that time: Lake Geneva, IL, born Feb 9 1887 (?), Linton Mill, OH. Registration location - Milwaukee, WI

On 1930 Census, Ft. Eustis, VA he is listed with wife Sadie, and 5 children, one of whom is my mother-in-law.

We are exploring the possibilities of prior marriages for Clarence.
