I don't know if this ties in, but there were 2 Mitchelson brothers Edward and William who came to Cambridge in the 1630's. One of the children or grandchildren might be related to your William. I have the will of Thomas Mitchelson son of William, who died in Cambridge about 1700. I have not transcribed it yet to see if there are any mention of children. The 2 other sons of Edward and William, both named Edward, died without having any children. This was all in the History of Cambridge, MA.
