Finally! Someone else is searching for Rengo's! Was Gustaf Matsson Born in Kauhava, Finland? the IGI has a Gustaf Rengo born 7/11/1860 who was christened 7/15. Also, there is a Gustaf Matsson who was christened 7/18/1827 in Kauhava, and another Gustaf Matsson Married 12/14/1818. Have you checked this source? I visited Kauhava last summer, since my Rengo relatives reportedly came to Michigan from Kauhava. My grandfather was John Rengo,10/1/1900 and his father was John Jakob Rengo, b.1873. I believe my great-grandfather John Jakob, was the son of Johan Matinpoika (Matsson) Rengo. I found this information from the church in Kauhava. I still need to verify some of the information, since church office workers are not geneologists, and I want to be certain. Anyway, if your great-grandfather came from Kauhava,we are probably related! Perhaps our grandfather's were cousins. I will share information that I have with you if you are interested.
