War of 1812 Claim of Soldiers for Service Pension State of Minnesota County of Goodhue On this twentieth (20) day of February, AD one thousand eight hundred and eighty five, personally appeared before me, a notary public, the same being a court record within and for the county and State aforesaid, (1) Abraham Lyke aged 85 years, a resident of Milton, in the county of Dodge, in the State of Minnesota, who being duly sworn according to the law, declares that he is the same Abraham Lyke, who served under the service of Columbian Artillery as a Powder Monkey, in the company commanded by Captain Jordan in the Columbian Art regiment of New York, in the War of 1812: that he enlisted at Hudson State of New York on or about the April or May day of ___blank____ AD 1812; for the term of service of Seven Years, and continued in actual service for the term of Eighteen / months, and was honorably discharged at Hudson NY on or about the October or Nov day of about, AD 1814. That since his discharged from said service, he has resided as follows, Viz: in the City of Hudson 7 years, in Albany NY 1 Year, in Hudson 5 Years in Katskill, Greene Co. 7 years, in Albany 2 years, in Athens Greene Co. NY 1 year, and in Milton, Dodge Co, Min 10 years and 2 years in Steamboat Rock, IA. The following was his description at the time of his enlistment, viz: Blue Eyes, dark brown hair, light complexion about 5 foot high, born in City of Hudson, State of New York, and by occupation a farmer. He makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the pension to which he may be entitled to under sections 4736 and 4740 inclusive, revised Statures, and the act approved March 9, 1878, and herby appoints ____(blank)_____ of ____(Blank)_____ his lawful attorney ___(blank)____ to present his claim.
