I am researching my gggrandfather Herman Carl MUELLER, born in Kolberg, Pomerania 1834. He immigrated to America during the Civil War. After fighting in the Civil War for the Iron Brigade, he somehow ended up in Le Sueur County. My grandmother had a copy of his July 1866 declaration of intention from Le Sueur county. His father: Gottfried MUELLER, mother Caroline.

I am interested in other MUELLER family members who may have settled in Le Sueur County. Also - were there flour mills in the county in 1866 (his occupation in Pomerania) ? I am trying to discover why he was attracted to this county, whether it was family or employment.
