George R. Smith came to Ottawa in 1857.
His first wife was "Emily L. Smith". Their first child was born in 1864 or 65 in Le Sueur County.
Does anyone on the list have access to the Le Sueur County Marriage Index? I would like to know if "Smith" was also Emily's maiden name, when they were married, where they were married & who her parents were. Emily died here at Deer Creek in 1894.
(I tried using the email address on the genealogy website, but my message was returned. Apparently Shirley is no longer in charge of that responsibility.)
