Samuel Gibson was born on August 26, 1843, in Delaware County, IN. He married Nancy Gibson on February 28, 1866, in Delaware County, IN.
They came to Le Sueur County, MN, the fall of 1866, with her uncle, Lewis Smith, and other family members.
On the 1870 census, Samuel was living in Ottawa Township & listed as a "mail carrier".
Their first child, Frank S. Gibson, was born in September of 1867 in Minnesota.
Their second child, Harriet I. Gibson, was born in January of 1870 in Minnesota.
In a later interview, Nancy said, "The Minnesota River ran through our farm and small boats went up it."
In 1873, they returned to Delaware County, IN.
I am looking for someone who has some history on this couple and I need to confirm who his father was.
Any bits and pieces for my Smith family history would be greatly appreciated.
