Sarah A. Smith was born on June 13, 1841, in Delaware County, IN. She was the daughter of John C. & Harriet (Preston) Smith of Delaware County, IN.
She married Jonas Hoover on October 11, 1860, in Delaware County, IN. They came to Minnesota with other Smith family members in the fall of 1866.
By the time of the 1880 census, this couple was divorced & she was back living in Muncie, Delaware County, IN, where she was a dress maker. Living with her were her two children, Mary E. Hoover, age 18, born in Iowa, and Emerson Hoover, age 17, born in 1863 in Iowa. I have no idea what part of Iowa they were born in.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone with bits & pieces of information on this family.
