If you are interested in the families of Argyle from 1879 on, I suggest you contact St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Argyle, and obtain a copy of "Frist 100 Years, St. Rose of Lima Parish, Argyle, Minnesota, 1879-1979". There are many Bergeron families mentioned. I looked for an Edward, but only found this: "There was an E. W. Bergeron in Argyle who had a harness shop in 1884. (p. 54). There is also mention of the Verboncouer family; "Adelphis David --married Julie Labissonierre -- in 1864--eleven children blessed this marriage -- Sarah (Blanch), who was born in 1883 --married W. J. LeFebvre --Mr. Verboncoeur arrived in Argyle in 1878 where he built one of the first general stores in Argyle (the Argyle Pool Hall was this store) --he was a leading merchant for years and many poor people have enjoyed the fruits of his benevolent hand --". The address for St. Rose is: Box 227, Argyle, MN 56713. St. Joanne Johnson was Associate Pastor there a year or so ago. She was very helpful to me. Her phone # is: 218 437-6341. She has an email address which is: stroser@wiktel.com. Good luck. John Gauthier
