In addition to the information below, if you are still in need of Elden family information, I can refer you to Eden descendants in Oslo, Minnesota.

Here is some information on the family, taken from the Oslo Centennial book (2005).

"Alf and Hulda (Gulbranson) Elden

Alf Leopold Elden was born on February 6, 1900, on the farm between Olso, MN and Alvarado, MN, that was homesteaded by his parents in 1879. Alf was the youngest of five surviving children born to Adolf and Kristine (Tinglum) Elden, who were the first couple to receive a marriage license in Marshall County. His sisters were: Mary (Mrs. Karl Anderson); Anna and Charlotte; he had a brother, Ole. Anna and Charlotte both died young from Tuberculosis; Ole, who married Mattie Haakenson, and later, Pearl Haakenson, had no children. He and Alf farmed together until Ole's death in 1954.

Hulda Clarice Gulbranson was the eldest child born to Edwin and Ida (Farder) Gulbranson. She was born in Oslo, MN, but the family soon moved south of town to a farm. She had two brothers: Clarence, who married Orma Nelson; and Obert; and three sisters: Ethel; Nina, who married Alvin Halvorson; and Edith, who married Walter Wallin.

Alf and Hulda were married on June 4, 1929, and celebrated 49 years together before Alf passed away in 1978. Hulda lived alone on the farm until her death in 1990. Alf and Hulda worked the farm all their lives. Children born to them were: Allan, who was married to Ina Trabue, and later, Patricia Sparks; Erline, who married Florence Finneman, Ruth, who married Laubert Pribula; Irene, who married Kenneth Hurd; Karl, who married Kathryn Anderson, and Ole, who married Kim Johnson. In addition, Ida Christine and John were born and died in infancy. (pg 239)
