GILHOUSEN & related families of Stewart, MN and nearby towns

I am seeking to correspond with any living relatives of the Gilhousens of McLeod and Rice Counties MN, or anyone with information regarding these families.

GILHOUSEN, James Marlin (b. 1848, Jefferson Co. PA) & Fannie Eliza BAKER, married 10 Oct 1868
- Guy Waldo (died in infancy)
- Archibald McCARTY (1870, orphan informally adopted)
- Lottie Ellen (1882)
- Orville Clyde (or Clyde G. - 1885)
- Alcott Mitchell (1893)

We have information in the Gilhousen Family Association central genealogical database on this lineage from 1757 to the present, but data collection specifically on the Rice County and closely related families is still very incomplete.

We also have newspaper clippings and other documents referencing individuals believed to be related, for whom we have no additional information, nor verification of the relationship. (These include John Lowell Gilhousen, who compiled a collection of family related papers; and S. G. Gilhousen referenced as one of the founding members of Hope Lodge, No. 358, Modern Brotherhood of America).

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, and of course, our available data is available to be freely shared. Closely connected surnames are listed.

John-Mark Gilhousen
Interim Director, Gilhousen Family Association USA
