Did you get a look at this St. Louis County genealogy site?

another great website for researching in that part of Minnesota is ironrangeresearchcenter.org
They have a searchable database.
the Minnesota birth index does show twins born in St. Louis county.

I think you can send for a copy of those certificates, pretty cheaply, which should tell you the town. Figure out how to do that at this website.

Even without a subscription to ancestry.com you could glean a little bit of information online from them, and / or go to your local library, which may have a subscription (mine does) and if you bring your own paper, or pay for printing . . .
anyway, go to ancestry.com and type in Jacob Puro, and you see that perhaps they were in Maryland by the time Jacob Puro had to register for the WW1 draft.
I saw something to that effect.
