In 1989 our Catholic parish St. Patrick's, Leopolis near Chillicthe MO closed. A newspaper article tells us the altars were transported by a family from LEWISTON, MN who refinished these altars and possibly these altars ended up in a Memorial Chapel in either MN or IOWA. if anyone knows anything about these altars, please get in touch with me. My GGGrandparents were members of this parish in the 1880s when the altars were installed. If we could locate them, we would love to drive any distance to view these altars again. The altars were made of walnut in the shape of tall spires going upward. There was a large statue of Jesus at the top of these spires, but we do not know if the statue was sold with the altars.
