I have been doing some more checking.
Anders Pederson Gaarder was born November 5, 1820.
The Minnesota census of 1880 has him living in Peterson, MN in 1880. This is the very last info I have on Anders.
Anders immigrated to the U.S. in 1869. His wife, Berte immigrated to Peterson, MN in 1877.
So, the census records I found earlier were not "my" ancestors.
It is possible that Anders & family moved to LaCrosse from Peterson, MN because their daughter (Mina) immigrated from Norway to LaCrosse, WI in 1885. Mina was my g. grandmother, and in the MN 1895 census, Berte was living with Mina & her husband in Minneapols.
So, I assume that Anders died sometime between 1880 and 1895.
