Hello TJ....I have a very confusing issue with finding Sarah Hardin Wilson, married to Sam Wilson. In the Obit of Mary Hardin Alderman 1920 in Dubuque Iowa it is said that Mary had a sister Sarah Hardin married to a Sam Wilson in St Paul MN. I found a Sam Wilson and a Sarah on the 1920 census for Ramsey County. I also found a death cert for Sarah Hardin Wilson that shows she was born 1873 in Kentucky. However my Sarah was born 1847 in Kentucky. The 1920 census also shows Sarah as born 1873 in Kentucky. The father is shown as William Harden and mother as Catherine Gallaway on the death cert. The 1850 census of DesMoines County Iowa shows only Catherine Harding, the mother, and children including Sarah....but no father listed as head of the household. I never have found the father but believe he was William Henry Hardin or called "Henry". The children are all farmed out to different families in 1860 and I cannot find the girls on census except the oldest dau Elizabeth Hardin Campbell living in DesMoines County Iowa. Later in 1870 I find Mary Hardin Alderman in Dubuque County Iowa and she is married. This is a very confusing search. If I could find an Obit or Oakland Cem burial info it might help to clear up some things. Do you have any further ideas that might help?
