In one of our history books
it mentions:
Lawerance McDermott, born in
Ireland, circa 1841. As a
boy he came to America and
settled in Clayton county, Iowa.
His wife was Julia Brazzell.
They arrived in Rock county
in 1870. Lawerance died in
1886; Julia in 1896.
I don't know how many children
they had - I have the name of
just one of them: William E.
McDermott, born Aug. 13, 1871.
Any children born earlier than
that were born in Iowa, as
William was the second white chid
born in Rock county [supposedly].
William m. Rena Herrick in 1903.
As of the 1911 writing of this
bio, they had two children:
Laurence, b1905; Milton, b1907.
