My Obediah was born in either 1825 or 1830 his birth date is different depending on who you talk too. He died and was buried of his son Louis's farm in 1898. I dont know if it was the farm in sharp county arkansas or the one in Texas county Missouri. However, there is an unmarked grave on the farm in Texas County. The story about Obediah was told to me by my grandfather about 35 years ago. I have him on cassette tape telling the story. He heard the story from his grandfather Obediah himself and from his father Charles Thomas. My grandfather was 12 years old in 1898 when Obediah died. I am certain that my Obediah was not the one in the 39th infantry. My Obediah married Mary Ann Eaton in clark county kentucky in 1849 and moved to Clay county missouri in 1850
