Obituary of Mrs Jefferson Broyles
Angeline Shields, was born in Kentucky, January 13, 1838 and died Jun 10, 1924 at the St Francis hospital Maryville, Missouri aged eighty-six years, four months, and twenty seven days. She was married to Jefferson Broyles March 5, 1854. They resided near Brownsville, Nebraska until 1866 when they came to Nodaway county, Missouri and resided on a farm about nine miles west of Maryville and lived in that vicinity ever since.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1915.
To this union ten children were born, five of whom died in early childhood and one daughter, Sarah, wife of Nick Thull died in 1889; the other four surviving children, Mrs Amanda Closser, of Kansas City; Mrs Jennie Thull of Hopkins, Missouri, Mr Asa J. Broyles of Broken Bow, Nebraska and Mrs Alice Dalrymple of Burlington Junction, Missouri were present at the funeral services. She leaves twenty one grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
Her death was due to declining years. Three weeks before her death she sustained a fall resulting in a broken hip which doubtless hastened her death.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev Shemwell of Maryville, Missouri, June 11, at Wilcox, Missouri from the home of a nephew, Mr Charles Broyles, and the body was laid to rest in the Cain cemetery near there.

Obituary of Angeline Broyles
Mrs Angeline Broyles, for sixty years a resident of Nodaway county, died this morning at 10:30 o'clock at the St Francis Hospital following an illness of two weeks, the result of a broken hip which she sustained at that time. No funeral arrangements have been made.
Mrs Broyles was eighty four years of age, and is survived by three daughters, Mrs Nick Thull, Hopkins; Mrs D.T. Dalrymple, Burlington Junction; Mrs Charles Crosser, Kansas City; and a son A.J. Broyles, Broken Bow, Nebr. Her husband died about ten years ago. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive. [THE MARYVILLE TRIBUNE, June 10, 1924]
