Lettie, There is a geneology research center in the basement of the Barton County Courthouse located in Lamar Missouri. You can call the courthouse and they can transfer you down to the basement. They have volunteers down there that are great about doing lookups.

I was there in Aug and looked up alot in their cemetery books and upstairs in the clerks office is hand written birth records back to through the 1800's. Good Luck. I live in Texas or I would look up for you.
