Robert Ellison b. 1819 and Martha Ann Mitchell b. 1821, moved to Barton twsp., Barton Co Mo. from Madison Co Ohio in the 1860es. The three youngest of their seven children are listed with them on the 1870 census for Barton Co. Martha Ann died early in the 1870 es, but to date I have not found her burial place. Robert married Rhoda E. from N.J. in 1875. The three Ellison sons marrying in Barton Co are; Chandler b. 1851 in Ohio, married Gertrude Estella Myers on March 11,1877, the daughter of George Myers and Irene Ketchill from Iowa. Remembrance b. 1854, married Lavinia Parry on April 25, 1880. Remembrance died at age 34 on March 30, 1888 and is buried in the Barton City Cemetery. Henry Young b. 1857 married Adie Minnie Roberts on August 4, 1887. Robert and wife Rhoda with the two young Beatty children(Born in Mo.)are listed in the 1900 census in Tulare California. Son Chandler and family moved to Tulare in 1889, Son Henry and family, moved to Tulare in 1900. Henry's daughter Madge, married C.M.(Bud)Cross,1900, they also went to Tulare Ca. I need information on where Martha Ann Mitchell Ellison is buried. Did son Remembrance have children? What was Rhoda E. last name? What church did this Ellison family attend, most likey it was Methodist. I found these dirrections to Robert and Chandler's farms,(that cousin Madge gave my Mother)they were side by side, 260 acres total. "4 1/2 miles NE of Liberal School next to Barton City Cemetery." Cousin Madge also gave the following list of people that she remembered as friend to the family. "John Todd, a drygood store owner. John Fast, a farmer. Bob Sackett, a farmer. John Weir, a farmer. Miss Baumgamer, her teacher. Sam Blackman, her Uncle by marriage. Dorothy Morgan, her cousin, Sam's daughter, a teacher living in Liberal." I do hope that this will jog someones memory, I would be very happy to exchange information on these families. Ruth rstutes@epsi.net
