John Bookout Vaughn was the son of James Vaughn and third wife Lavina Bookout. Don't get confused as his first wife was Lavina Painter. James and Lavina Bookout were married on June 3, 1855 in Webster Co., Missouri. In addition to John B. they had two daughters one named Delila and one named Ann. Delila married George M. Dallis McHaffie.
All I know about James Vaughn is that he was born abt. 1816 in St. Clair Co., Alabama. Lavina was born Oct. 5, 1829 in Wayne Co., Kentucky the daughter of John and Sarah (Vaughn) Bookout. I have never been able to determine what if any relationship James was to mother-in-law Sarah. I have names and dates on the entire Bookout clan but very little on the Vaughns. Sarah was born Oct. 20, 1787 in Washington Co., NC (later became Tennessee). She was the daughter of John Vaughn and married John Bookout on March 20, 1807 in Knox Co., Tennessee. I have never been able to find anything out about John Vaughn other than he was Sarah's father. I am descended twice from John and Sarah (Vaughn) Bookout, once through their son James Oliver Bookout and once through their daughter Malinda (Bookout) Brown.
I also have some connections with the Green and Denny families but don't know how they might tie in with yours.
