Thanks so much for your and your mom's efforts to assist. I have emailed you regarding the obituary. I also checked with Gerth's in Memphis as George Baskett signed the death certificate but their only remaining record was a short entry in their burial log. Both William and Mary were born in Indiana and are supposed to have been married in Indiana, although I do not have documentation of that fact. An older cousin of my fathers has told us that after Mary died in 1895, William went to live with the youngest son, Robert William (my great-grandfather), but when they had their fourth child and William went blind, he went to live in the County Home in Clark County and died there. I have been told that the home burnt and the records with it and have found no death record for him, but he supposedly died a couple of years after Mary. I have also yet to locate any kind of death record or obituary for Mary. I have no information on either of their parents other than both of Mary's parents were from Virginia and William's father was from Virginia and mother was from Ohio. The oldest two sons lived in Hancock County IL and I am still looking for descendants of or obituaries for both of them. We are also attempting to contact a descendant of Mary Emma Buckley to see what information he might be able to provide. Notify Administrator about this message?
